Acid Storm is a green repaint of the Classics Starscream mold, intended to resemble the green jet of the three Rainmakers that served in the command of Shockwave on Cybertron. Acid Storm’s wings are equipped with underslung projectile-firing cannons and in robot mode the oversized cannons serve as Acid Storm’s guns.
In the original cartoon episode, “Divide and Conquer”, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Bluestreak and Trailbreaker were accompanied by Chip Chase on a threadbare mission to Cybertron to retrieve a cosmotron needed to repair the heavily damaged Optimus Prime. The Rainmakers, a trio of Cybertronian Seekers dispatched by Shockwave, generated an acid rainfall that temporarily floored the Autobots.
