The Silver Surfer entered the world of comics in March 1966, in Fantastic Four #48, as an unplanned addition to a story about Galactus and the Fantastic Four. Both Stan Lee and Jack Kirby enjoyed the character so much that he featured him in a solo title, The Silver Surfer, in 1968 with him going on to become one of the most well-loved of all the Marvel characters. In 1998, the Surfer starred in a solo animated series - which is available now for the first time ever on DVD!
